About Us
Sunlit is built by Vidus6, an independent mobile app studio in Turkey. We build focused iOS apps that do one job well — in Sunlit's case, telling you honestly how long today's sun will let you tan.
Who we are
Vidus6 is a small mobile app studio in Turkey building focused utility apps for iPhone and iPad. Sunlit started because every tanning app we tried either ignored the actual UV index or handed everybody the same number. Burn time is not one number: it depends on the sun overhead right now and on the skin you were born with, and those two facts are exactly what Sunlit measures.
How we handle your data
Your skin profile, your session history and your vitamin D log never leave your device. Your coordinates go to Open-Meteo only to fetch a UV forecast, and nothing about that request identifies you. If you run the optional skin scan, the photo is sent once to Google Gemini for a single analysis and is not stored on any Vidus6 server. There is no account, no email address and no advertising SDK anywhere in the app. This website only sets analytics cookies if you accept them in the consent banner.
About Sunlit
Sunlit is free to download. The tanning timer, vitamin D log and UV alerts are free; Sunlit Premium is a subscription that adds the 10-day UV forecast, unlimited AI skin scans with history, and the advanced and beach-day routines. Any rating shown on this site comes straight from the App Store listing — while the app is new there is no rating to show, and we would rather show nothing than a number we made up.
How we write this site
Everything here is written and reviewed by the Vidus6 team. The tanning and vitamin D figures come from the WHO UV Index definition, published Minimal Erythema Dose ranges per Fitzpatrick type, and Holick's work on vitamin D synthesis. We only claim what the app actually does, we do not invent user numbers or ratings, and where the honest answer is 'ask a dermatologist' we say that instead. If you spot an error, tell us and we will fix it.
